Bike Ride to Support Distance Learning

In an effort to support local children throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Project; Life’s Journey (http://projectlifesjourney.org/) will raise funds to provide at least 200 families with Distance Learning Boxes. Each Distance Learning Support Box costs $55 and will include an abundance of educational and emotional resources for children ages 5-8. We are hosting a Bike Ride to cover the cost of the Distance Learning Support Boxes.

Contents of Distance Learning Support Boxes

Educational resources include: Sight Word Flash Cards, Crayons, Pencils, Pencil Sharpener, Glue Stick, scissors, composition notebook, eraser, a ruler, and an academic workbook.

Emotional resources include: Mood chart magnet, stress ball, multiple books on topics related to anger, friendship, black history, global warming, yoga, and mindfulness, jump rope, yo-yo, bubbles and affirmation cards.

About the Bike Ride

Proceeds from the bike ride registrations and online donations will be contributed to the creation of the Distance Learning Boxes to be distributed to identified Norfolk Public School children whose education continues to be impacted by COVID-19 pandemic. Registration is $55 for adults and free for children ages 16 and under. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the day, participants will meet at Harbor Park and complete a five- or fifteen-mile bike ride continually abiding by the state guidelines for safe social distancing.

“I’ve dedicated my career to helping others find the balance they may need to live the best life they can,” said Gill, who owns Life’s Journey, a full-service behavioral health provider serving the Hampton Roads region. “Project: Life’s Journey is an extension of my business that will provide support services, programs and more events like this that promote wellness and hope for Hampton Roads communities.”

Friend ($500)- Company- provided material or swag included in Distance Learning Support Boxes and in bags given to participants and Company logo, name, and link placed on Project: Life’s Journey’s website

Participating ($1,000)- All of the above, plus Spoken recognition during event and Company logo/name printed on participant T-shirts

Silver ($3,000)- All of the above,  plus Company Signage displayed on event site and Logo and name featured on all printed promotional materials and special thanks included in Distance Learning Support Boxes.

Gold ($7500)- All of the above, plus Dedicated social media post highlighting the company with a link to the company’s website and/or social media pages.

Presenting ($10,000)- All of the above plus, Company Logo and name featured in all paid advertising (which could include television, radio, or digital platforms).
